Why We Share Your Information
Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information. Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do.
Consumer’s Federal Credit Union is committed to making available financial products and services that will enable members to meet their financial needs and reach their financial goals. Protecting personal information and using it in a manner consistent with members’ expectations is a high priority for everyone associated with the Credit Union.
What Information We Collect
The types of personal information we collect and share depend on the product or service you have with us. This information can include:
- Social Security number and transaction history
- Account balances and transaction or loss history
- Payment history and credit history
We collect your personal information, for example, when you:
- Open an account or apply for a loan
- Provide mortgage information or make a wire transfer
- Provide account information
- Submit a member application or other forms
We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.
How We Share Your Information
All financial companies need to share customers’ personal information to run their everyday business. Below are the reasons we can share your personal information and whether you can limit that sharing.

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to anyone, except as permitted by law.
How to Limit Our Sharing
You have the right to limit certain sharing of your personal information. To do so:

Please note: If you are a new member, we can begin sharing your information 30 days from the date we sent this notice. When you are no longer our member, we continue to share your information as described in this notice. However, you can contact us at any time to limit our sharing.
How We Protect Your Information
To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings. We will use security techniques to protect against unauthorized access to personal records, ensure accuracy and integrity of communications and transactions, and protect member confidentiality.
Members will always have access to their information.
Our Partners
The Credit Union will partner only with businesses that follow strict confidentiality requirements. The businesses we select will offer products designed to enhance our members’ economic well-being. Under no circumstances will we authorize these firms to charge a member’s account without their written consent. We will not sell member information to telemarketing firms.
Our joint marketing partners include insurance companies.
Why Can’t I Limit All Sharing?
Federal law gives you the right to limit only:
- Sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes regarding your creditworthiness
- Affiliates from using your information to market to you
- Sharing for non-affiliates to market to you
State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.
If you limit sharing on a joint account, your choices will apply to everyone on the account.
Definitions
Affiliates – Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies. Consumer’s Federal Credit Union has no affiliates.
Non-Affiliates – Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies. Consumer’s Federal Credit Union does not share with non-affiliates so they can market to you.
Joint Marketing – A formal agreement between non-affiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you. Our joint marketing partners include insurance companies.
